St. Patty's Day

One of the only things I really enjoy about being in the city is that we can go out and people watch. Generally people in the Bay Area are freaks. Any holiday where they can dress up and act like weirdos and they'll do it. This being said we decided to go out and meet up with Rula and just have a beer on St. Patty's Day, I guess that's what you are supposed to do.

We went to an Irish Pub and then over to a British Pub and you couldn't really tell the difference between the two. Everyone was dressed like Leprechauns and there were many men in kilts... I thought that was a Scottish thing. We just hung out for a little bit and then went home. Nothing too exciting, just lots and lots of freaks. I should have taken some pictures of them!

Luna's Day OUT

Well the story goes that Shane got home from school and thought he closed the front door. He is normally very weird about making sure it is locked at all times so it is quite a surprise for all of us that it wasn't closed, locked and latched. He put his bag down, used the restroom and then went and laid down on his bed to watch some television.

Stella was staying right by him the whole time. She seemed all weird, she just kept looking at Shane as if something was wrong. For a while Shane just ignored her until it started to drive him nuts. He called Luna to see if she'd come and play with Stella and she never came (those of you who know Luna don't find this very surprising).

He got up to look around for her and she what she had gotten into when he saw the front door open and no little dog to be found. He freaked out. He grabbed some treats and closed the door as he ran down the steps calling her name.

He first looked in the garage to see if she was in there waiting for us to come and take her to the dog park. He kept calling and calling when he decided to go and check out the park behind our apartment complex, where we take the dogs all the time, and see if she was there.

Sure enough, there was Luna. She had a giant smile on her face and she was running around smelling, peeing and just happy to be free. Who knows how long she had been there. She obviously either ducked under the gate or waited until someone opened the gate and ran out toward the park.

Shane called her and she quickly ran over (thank goodness that we have been working on this lately). He picked her up and brought her home relieved.

There were so many blessings in this little event. The first is that Shane didn't call Jennifer like he normally would. Jennifer had a test to take today and couldn't have kept her head straight if Shane had called and said, "Luna's gone". The second blessing is that Luna was found unhurt. The road next to our house is pretty busy and the parking lot of this place can be crazy sometimes. The third blessing is that no one picked Luna up and took her home. Yesterday we took off Luna's leather collar and put it on the couch and Stella found it and chewed it in half. Luna had no ID whatsoever!

All in all this was a crazy day but when we took Luna over to the park to take her picture you could still see her looking off into the distance wishing she was gallivanting around causing trouble chasing kids and barking at other dogs. Crazy dog!

Skinny Ray Scott?!

Last night we went to dinner at Sonoma Chicken Coop and went to a club for a bit for Rula's birthday. One of her friends looks just like a skinny Ray Scott. Shane and I couldn't even talk to him because it was just too weird. You be the judge. By the way, we couldn't bring ourselves to straight out ask him if we could take his picture so we could post it and get your opinion so we had to paparazi-style sneak a couple of pictures.
