Forge in the Forest
This was the coolest restaurant we've been to. It actually had a dog menu where you could order things from a hot dog to a 8 ounce steak! They brought Luna a bowl of ice water when we first got there and then fed her treats. Everyone was there with their dogs. It was a lot of fun! We'll definitely go back! There was a long line waiting for tables but the dog section had a table right away so we got to walk right past them and get a table! It was awesome-special treatment for having a dog!

Molera State Park

One of the things we wanted to do on this trip was take a horseback tour through some of forests down here and maybe even get a little beach ride in. We're not big horse people but we do like to ride them. Jennifer feels right at home on one, CJ never really feels like he knows what he's doing.

CJ's horse was a big draft horse. Her back was taller than all of the other horses out there. When they were getting her ready and adjusting her saddle she bit the hat off of the cowboy doing the adjusting and almost got ahold of his ear. "She's a really sweet horse." CJ was only slightly nervous when they went to adjust her saddle again while he was on top of her. She was a really big horse. All did go well and it was a really fun ride.

17-mile Drive

We went on the famous 17-mile drive which runs through Pebble Beach Golf Course and all along the coast. It is a really gorgeous drive with lots of spots to pull off and take pictures. We had a really good time just watching and listening to the waves crashing on the rocks.

So I forgot a day...

Sorry about missing yesterday- we were busy celebrating Jennifer's A+ final spinal exam score! (She's so smart!)

Here's some pictures of these beach squirrels. There was a ton of them all over the rocks. People were out there hand feeding them. CJ had one standing on his foot! It was fun!

Sea Lions

The same day we went to Cannery Row we walked down to this pier that had a ton of sea lions on it. Luna wasn't too excited about being there but she might have been not wanting to go in the water. Some of the sea lions weren't too happy with having their picture taken as you can tell!

Alright I'm going to make up for the lack of posting!

We've had quite a busy few weeks and we want to share some pics with ya so instead of just posting a few from the whole vacation I'll post some pictures now and then some more, and some more explaining what we did over the next few days (email me if I forget or get too busy!)

First off, during Thanksgiving week we decided to go and spend some time in Monterey, CA. CJ is a huge Steinbeck fan and has been itching to head down there since we got here. In Monterey is the setting for Steinbeck's book, Cannery Row. It's one of CJ's favorites.

While we were there we saw many things as described in the book that were actual places. We even saw Doc Rickett's shack (where he did all his collecting) and just a bunch of stuff. If you've ever read the book and liked it then you've got to go see Cannery Row. It's so commercial now and is more of a tourist attraction. CJ wanted to start asking random tourists if they had even ever read the book... but all in all it was fun! Here are some pictures from Cannery Row.
